PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Designed for the BMW 1 Series F40 listed here, this mileage blocker provides selectable distance-recording profiles for off-road, closed-track and dyno testing only. Compatibility covers 2019–2024. The vehicle year range identifies this product; the separate 2018+ reference in the operating instructions concerns software and must not be read as another production-year option.

Compatibility and installation

The F40 application shown here spans 2019–2024, with no extra cluster-photo approval step. Connection is plug and play and does not involve cutting or soldering the vehicle wiring. Fitting guidance is sent once the product has been purchased.

Short and Long packages

Choose between the standard Short cable and the Long arrangement. The latter supplies a quick-disconnect connection together with a dummy plug, allowing the ordinary connection to be used without the emulator. This cable choice is separate from the software notes.

Operating profiles and memory

The first powered connection starts the F40 module in Freeze. After you choose a different profile, that selection is saved for the next ignition cycle. Change profiles with four quick high-beam flashes and check the hazard-flash confirmation shown in the mode cards.

Is the reduced speed reading a normal reading?

No. In the limited profile for software updated in 2018 or later, 5 km/h on the cluster corresponds to 50 km/h actual speed. Driver assistance functions continue to operate.

The four mode cards below give distance recording, speed display and confirmation examples for this application. The 2018+ note refers to software, not vehicle production year.

MODE SWITCHING

Change the profile using 4 quick high-beam flashes. Hazard indicator flashes confirm the selected profile: 1 = Freeze; 2 = Limited 10%; 3 = Limited + Speed/10; 4 = Bypass.

First connection activates Freeze. The last selected mode remains saved after an ignition cycle.
